Lisa Adeli, CMES coordinator wins award from the History Channel at National History Day competition.
CMES Outreach Coordinator Lisa Adeli, recently published her first book, "Resistance to the Persecution of Ethnic Minorities in Croatia and Bosnia During World War II." The book is published by Edwin Mellen Press and available for purchase through major book sellers.

The Middle East Outreach Council (MEOC) announces its 2008 Middle East Book Award recipients. The CMES Outreach Library has - or will soon have - all of these books, as well as the other winners from previous years. Please come check them out - literally.
December 2008
The Outreach Bulletin , in addition to providing valuable information on the Middle East region, highlights the CMES Outreach Center events and news of each month. Current and past issues are available online for download.
A variety of events taking place from Tuesday, December 9th until Thursday, December 11th to celebrate the end of the calendar year and fundraise for various scholarships.

Outreach Coordinator Dr. Lisa Adeli traveled to Houston, Texas to attend and present at the 2008 National Council for the Social Studies Conference.

Through a generous computer grant from Gateway, the University of Arizona Center for Middle Eastern Studies will be creating 10 short documentaries (10-20 minutes each) for K-12 teachers to use in their classrooms. We are looking for 20 students - 10 researchers and 10 filmmakers - who would be interested in creating a documentary on some aspect of Middle Eastern history, culture, geography, art, or environment. The researchers and filmmakers chosen to participate will be matched together and will cooperate to create and produce a documentary, which will be distributed to teachers for use in their classrooms.
